Summer Camp

From June 12th thru August 25th

Our Spanish Summer Camp is designed for students currently attending Spanish Immersion programs or with prior Spanish experience. During the day, children rotate through different classes and activities with small class sizes and specifically designed to place a high emphasis on oral fluency. Spanish is spoken during camp 100% of the time.

Ages: 2- 12 years old

Students are separated in age-appropriate groups

Schedule:

                                                                                 9 AM- 12:30 PM- Preschool $300

                                                                                 9 AM- 1:30 PM Elementary $300

                                                                                                    8 AM- 5:30 $450

                                                                Healthy hot lunches are offered for a rate of $35 per week

Week 1 (June12th-16th)

DIY Projects

Students will learn how to collaborate and work as a team to elaborate fun DIY projects such as bath bombs, lip balm, boats, and other creative fun creations. By the end of the week, the students will have a show and tell to share with classmates their favorite creations. 

 

Friday Fun Activity: Water bouncy House Extra fee $15 (elementary only)

Week 2 (June19th- 23rd)

Bakers Workshop

Students will explore delicious pastry and bread recipes from around the world. Based on what they have learned with a few ingredients given. At the end of the day, we will all get to sample each other's creations.

Week 3 (June26th- 30th)

A trip Around the world: Trip To Mexico

A trip around the world: The Mexican Experience

Our students will discover the dances, costumes,  flavors, and traditions of our closest Spanish-speaking neighbor. 

Desired Field trip: Visit Placita Olvera (Elementary only, Extra fees apply)

Week 4 (July 3rd- 7th)

STEAM

through fun team-building activities, engineering projects, and difficult challenges our students will learn how to work with a team speaking-only

in Spanish to create a final project and then present it to the class.

Week 5 (July 10th- 14th)

Great Builders and Fantastic Builders

In this thematic unit, students will learn about famous buildings and builders from the old and new Worlds. We will learn about different famous buildings from the famous Pyramids of Giza to the Sagrada Familia. Travel with us around the world to discover architectural marvels from the old and new worlds.

Desired field trip: Watts Towers (Elementary only, extra fees may apply)

 

Week 6 (July 17th- 21st)

The Great Coral Barrier

Discover the amazing biodiversity of the Great Coral Barrier, the amazing creatures that live there, their complex ecosystem, and the challenges it faces due to global warming. Through fun experiments, students will understand a bit about the bleaching process which threatens coral reefs around the world. 

In Addition, students will learn about Australian Culture and traditions and their language.

Desired field trip: Visit the Science Center (Elementary only, extra fees may apply)

Corals Under the Sea

 

Week 7 (July 24th- 28th)

Wonderer of the Amazon Rainforest

Students will learn about all the wonderful creatures that live in the Amazon rainforest and the types of climate and vegetation one can find in different parts of the rainforest. In addition, we will get to try and cook some traditional foods from the region, and learn about traditional dances and how the people native to the region live.

Week 8 (July 31- August 4th)

Trip Around The World: Soth American Edition

Pack your bags and take this imaginary trip to South America with us. Explore a different European country every day, cook delicious regional foods from the area, and learn, more about their landscapes music, culture, folk dances, and much more. On Friday we will have a special surprise guest.

 

Week 9 (August 7th-11th)

Trip Around The World: European Edition

Pack your bags and take this imaginary trip to Europe with us. Explore a different European country every day, cook delicious regional foods from the area, and learn, more about their landscapes music, culture, folk dances, and much more. On Friday we will have a special surprise guest.

 

Week 10 (August 14th-18th)

Trip Around The World: Asia Edition

​Pack your bags and take this imaginary trip to South America with us. Explore a different Asian country every day, cook delicious regional foods from the area, and learn, more about their landscapes music, culture, folk dances, and much more. On Friday we will have a special surprise guest.

 

Week 11 (August 21st-25th)

Inventor's Workshop

​Students will explore and learn about great inventions that changed the world. They will use their imaginations to create their own revolutionary inventions. Then each child will get to share their inventions with classmates through slogans and commercial spots they will create themselves in Spanish.
